Ms. McCullough recently served as a Counsel for the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, which has jurisdiction over the nation’s interstate commerce and the businesses that engage in it.  The Committee governs the manufacturing, insurance, and technology industries, among others. Originally hired by Ranking Member Senator Ernest Hollings of South Carolina, Ms. McCullough was retained by Senator Daniel Inouye of Hawaii when Senator Hollings retired and Senator Inouye took his place as the Ranking member (now Chairman) of the Commerce Committee.

Ms. McCullough has extensive experience with consumer and product issues.  She negotiated the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s reauthorization bill which passed the Senate in 2003.  In addition, she worked on legislation and hearings ranging from bedding flammability standards to the landmark tobacco settlement to federal oversight of the property/casualty insurance industry.

While working for Senator Hollings, Ms. McCullough served as an advisor regarding civil justice issues, including class action federalization, medical malpractice, and asbestos litigation.  Later, she worked on consumer and product issues involving automotive safety standards and flood car; legislation that would inform consumers of their used cars’ histories.

Prior to her Committee service, Ms. McCullough worked as an Associate Director at a legal industry association named by Fortune magazine as one of America’s most powerful lobby groups and acted as a consultant for Jenner and Janet, LLC.
