Since leaving her job as Counsel with the Commerce Committee, Ms. McCullough helped a national radio brokerage client favorably resolve their issues before the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), lobbied Congress to fight the Copyright Royalty Board’s attempt to force internet radio stations to pay unprecedented per-song fees, and pushed for an extension of the Internet tax moratorium.

Ms. McCullough’s background in data privacy issues led her to a role as a negotiator on the FTC’s US SAFE WEB Act, which became law in 2006, and the Commerce Committee’s identity theft prevention bill.  In addition, she worked on Committee hearings and legislation creating policy on spam, peer-to-peer networks, spyware, and the confirmation hearings of all five current FTC Commissioners.  Her background in First Amendment law led her to a role in the Commerce Committee’s examination of tobacco marketing and video game advertising.

Prior to her Committee service, Ms. McCullough consulted for organizations such as the United Way of America in its campaign to set aside the number 211 for information and referral services, and worked with the 3M Corporation’s Health Information Systems division.  In addition, she worked for the Freedom Forum’s First Amendment Ombudsman.
